"An Evening With…" His Eminence Cardinal Timothy Dolan

Louis Fabro
On the evening of October 10, St. Charles Preparatory School proudly welcomed His Eminence Cardinal Timothy Dolan, to serve as the keynote speaker for of the school’s “An Evening With…” speaker series. Cardinal Dolan was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI as the tenth archbishop of New York in 2009.

The cardinal, admired for his mastery of modern communications and his buoyant personality, was the featured guest at a special reception held in the school’s Learning Formation Center, formerly known as Holy Angels Library. Matt Palmer, a cofounder of The Joseph Group, served as the master of ceremonies for the evening’s main event.

The charismatic cardinal told the crowd how impressed he was to visit a school that is” forming young men for Christ and for others,” providing the school’s young men with “a Christ-centered education” and preparing them to enter a very challenging world.

Our thanks to 1961 alumnus Bob Dilenschneider, who was instrumental in securing the cardinal as the featured presenter.

“An Evening With …” was established nine years ago by 1963 St. Charles alumnus Bob Walter and his wife, Peggy, to create an annual venue for speakers who offer insight into thought-provoking topics. The event raises tuition assistance funds for St. Charles families in need, with all proceeds going directly into the St. Charles Endowment Fund.
